Now Please?

Yesterday I went to my OB appointment. I was excited and nervous--excited to see if there was any good news after being "checked", nervous because it's awkward..my feet aren't the only things I haven't been able to see. I got doubly nervous when the doc asked me if his med student could come in and observe during the examine...sure, why not! Trying not to get my hopes up, I anxiously looked at my OB for the verdict. He looked up with a big smile and said, "I've got good news! You're dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced. At this rate you could go to the hospital at a 4!" NO WAY!!! Then after saying something stupid like..let's hook me up to some Pitocin and get this going, he told me to hold tight and that I could go into labor any minute or go clear passed by due date. LAME, but still awesome. And of course when I called Adam he thought the news meant I was in labor--Q husband freak out--poor guy.
Anyway, thought you all deserved an update. Sorry if I made anyone feel uncomfortable. Get over it.

p.s. What do you predict? Will I go into labor within a week or so, or have to wait the full 3.5 weeks or later?

Hopefully it'll be sooner than later! That's great news, esp. for it being your first baby and all.

I wasn't dialated to ANYTHING and was like, 10% effaced, but 2 days later I instantly went into labor and had Jack after 3 pushes.
Also, my friend Jessie Lindsay was dialated to a 2 for about 5 weeks, so you never know! Start doing some jumping jacks or something!!

Oh, but I meant to say that I think you're going to have this baby soon... like in 8 or 9 days is my guess! (March 2nd)

Im so glad I found your blog! I hope that gorgeous baby of yours comes soon for you, like in the next week, and I hope it all goes well for you. When I was pregnant with Ethan I was 70% and 2 cm at my 38 week apt and had him strip my membranes(sp)-(not as bad as it sounds) and started to go into labor that night. Just food for thought.

I am so not jealous that you got to have a student in there while you were checked. I hate being checked, and I'm not talking hockey lingo. Just so you know, labor is sooo much worse, especially when it's time to push. Say good bye to your dignity!

I def. don't think you'll go to your due date since you're already at a 2 and 80% but I don't think it's going to be right away either. Either way good luck! With my past experience, first babies are generally late BUT if you're already progressing, then that's way awesome and I think it'll be next week maybe....
With Emily (my 1st) I was dialted to 1 but I was 3 days late with her. I had an exam and they stripped my membranes (sorry if that's TMI) and I went into labor at 2:30am the next morning... Awesome thing is, I skipped the first two stages (Or just didn't feel it) and I woke up in transition phase and was 8cm when I got to the hospital... I pushed 4 times I think... Anyway, this is sooo exciting!!! Good Luck and I can't wait to see pictures!
